(Derek) I think it all depends what you’re looking for or need at any given time. After we did this pod, I was more convinced about how creative expression in a collective sense makes this game which can feel “empty” to me be a lot more meaningful

Love the episode! I kinda agree with Derek in that Animal Crossing feels somewhat patronizing, but also it feels kind of vacuous. I can make a beautiful community full of uninterestering villagers made shallow by character bloat and invite people over, but I cant like, play minigames with them. Its all appearance but no actual community, which bothers me. At least in Stardew I can play arcade
